    Pairwise believes healthy food should be affordable, convenient, and sustainable.  We believe gene editing can be used to accelerate plant breeding and to harness the natural diversity in agricultural crops to address global food challenges.  We are bringing the benefits of these new innovations both to producers and directly to consumers through the produce aisle of their local grocery store.  Located in the Raleigh-Durham metro area Pairwise was formed in 2017 and has plans to recruit and hire 100 employees over the next year to help meet our aggressive product development goals. 

     

    Pairwise is looking to hire a Communications & Marketing Lead that will position the company as industry leader.  This includes developing and executing corporate and product communications strategies across a variety of channels, while developing and ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.  This person will engage the agricultural industry and the public with the goal to help them better understand and support products that have been developed by improving plants with CRISPR technology. The individual will direct Pairwise’s external face, including media and industry relations, as well as working internally to coordinate the communication aspects of the various projects.

     

    In addition, the ideal candidate will provide product marketing support during the initial R&D phases leading up to commercialization.  This includes initiating and coordinating market research, opinion surveys, and agency relations.  Suggests changes in strategy and/or products to respond to market conditions. Develops and implements marketing strategies to meet organizational goals and the strategic plan

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree relevant to experience
    • Minimum 5 years of experience B2B and B2C marketing communications, 10 years or more is a plus
    • Demonstrated experience excelling at managing multiple, deadline-sensitive projects, keeping internal clients informed, tracking multiple budgets, forecasting and ROI measures
    • Knowledge of consumer research
    • Strong team player with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
    • Proactive in offering recommendations and solutions, a self-starter, results oriented
    • Demonstrated experience in one or more of these fields is a plus: CPG products, Produce, & Food.  Experience in commercial agriculture, crop protection, food sciences, or similar field is also applicable.  However, we are open to candidates with a variety of backgrounds

    Responsibilities

    • Development of strategic marketing and communications plans
    • Manages media relations
    • Coordinating industry relations by establishing and maintaining relationships with various industry groups including trade and grower groups
    • Managing public relations by establishing and maintaining relationships with consumer, community, and employee groups
    • Provide input and direction to the communications aspects of the company’s strategy
    • Managing communications and marketing agencies
    • Directs and supports product and marketing research to understand consumer, customer and industry needs and perceptions.
    • Support a culture focused on innovation and creating great products
    • Collaborate on an employer branding effort
    • Directs, develops, enhances and monitors websites and digital/social channels and works directly the website host provider and related firms as well as assigned creative services staff.
